Kampoeng English Poernama is one of place for living and learning destination. It is located at Jln Purnama Agung VII Blok Y No 36. It was established early 2013 by Mr Nur Iskandar and his wife’s Dwi Syafrianti. It has some activities related of volunteering. One of the famous that people known in Pontianak it has Social Sunday activiity where the students in the young ages be able to learn English together.
Enjoying Social Sunday activity to learn English language always become interesting experience, not only for the students but also for the volunteers there. Here, we spend our spare time to learn togerher for empowering ourselves, constributing, and building Pontianak Human Resources better.
We starts our activities 03.00 P.M- 04.30 P.M. in every Sunday. Social sunday activity is not only peaceful and and comforable place to learn language and culture, but its more than a place for living and learning, here the students can learn and practice language by native speaker aruond the world.
In the early August 2017 was very pleased time for us, we have both students from Humburg Universty Germany that join us for a month. Luna and Amel, they were join us for volunteering activity in a few weeks especially social Sunday, this was honour for us for having them here, and active constribute to teach the students not only about English but also cross culture understanding about their country. In learning activity the volunteers apply methods with the different types likes, role play, pairs, sing a song, dance and watch movie. It makes the students enjoy the class.
During the activities happened, the students more enjoyable, because they were offered for building their self independent by rising their hands and mentions the word that they know. The student also seems enthusiastic, the students cheerful in learning English. The volunteers that colaborate with Amel and Luna also kind and friendly, even if the situation here sometime a bit crowded by the students in the young age. But they can managed it well.
