Hosting Student, Akane Kazaoka Visited Kadriah Palace of Pontianak

teraju.id, Pontianak – one of the AFS Intercultural Learning hosting students, Akane Kazaoka (Japan) with volunteer of AFS Intercultural Learning continue city tour to the Kadriah Palace of Pontianak on Sunday (8/3).

The visit was in order to continue the introduction of culture in West Kalimantan after going to the museum.

Akane expressed her sympathy knowing the next visit to the palace was “I read history and I already know that Indonesian history has something to do with Japan. I feel sad about the dark history,” she said.

There we were given direction by Mr.Yuli as a guard at Kadriah Palace explaining various photos and also historical objects that were there.

Although she felt sad, Akane also admitted that she was very interested in the history of Indonesia where there were many kingdoms that united and then became nations. “I feel very fortunate to be able to visit one of the kingdoms in Indonesia and know its history so I can learn a lot from it,” she concluded.
