teraju.id, Pontianak – Kampoeng English Poernama (KEP) once again presents a sharing session aimed for facilitating youth to gain lot of perspectives from speakers presented by carrying out the theme “Cross Culture” at February 29th 2020, KEPTALK is one of KEP’s routine activities to develop youth and broaden the horizons of future generations in West Kalimantan.
Attended by 50 participants representatives from 20 communities in West Kalimantan and also from outside community. One participant from outside of community revealed the reason for taking part in this activity “I am curious about foreign cultures. And they explain differences how to eat, behave, and so on. This activity gain knowledge for the audiences” said pony (Santa Paulus High Schooler)
Speakers at the Kep Talk this time were Bina Antarbudaya’s hosting students from Japan (Akane Kazaoka) and Italy (Andrea Falchi) sharing perspectives as non-Indonesians who felt Indonesian culture directly so as to cause culture shock and share their culture from their respective countries.
Akane said that she was delighted with this activity “I like to share my culture so people know what really happened and what they thought was culture when it wasn’t”
As the Hosting Coordinator, Rike Rahayu also said that this event was also a socialization of Bina Antarbudaya’s hosting activities.
“What they think about my country are just pisa and spaghetti. Even though Italy is more than that,” Andrea added.
