teraju.id, Binabud – Intercultural learning opens the opportunity to learn about other cultures, as well as motivating a person to be more open minded in receiving new stimulus during the process. Learning and acquiring knowledge on cultures starts with establishing awareness and appreciation towards own culture in order to be aware about other cultures. The process continues with learning many different aspects of other cultures that are tangible, such as language, dance, literature, etc. The learning process then shift to the intangible part of culture, such as values, ideals, concepts, etc, for a comprehensive understanding.

The theme to this cycle of ICL writing competition is Understanding Culture through the Tangible and Intangible. We want to know how you were able to learn about a certain culture, through the tangible and intangible part of it. Given your experience as an exchange student as well as Bina Antarbudaya volunteer, describe examples that you have encountered that represents the theme. You can explore new ideas based on your experience and reflection as recommendation for others to have awareness on the importance of understanding culture comprehensively through both tangible and intangible aspects. The score will be based in the writing structure, development of idea, relevancy, key message, and grammar.

Mechanism and Criteria: Article is written in English. Written article should contain at least 500 words, and maximum 700 words. Photos describing the writing should also be attached.
