Launch of cyber e-commerce for trade for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Indonesia

teraju.id, TNN A new program will help Indonesian companies ready to integrate into regional and global trade markets to test their cybersecurity readiness. The Australian Indonesia Centre (AIC), National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and Ministry of Cooperation and UMKM Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkop UMKM RI) are delighted to launch the cyber e-commerce for trade for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) initiative.

Funded by the Australian government, Cyber E-commerce for Trade is an Australian government e-commerce aid for trade initiative aimed at helping countries in the Indo-Pacific take full advantage of the digital economy by increasing their e-commerce capabilities.

To be designed and delivered by the Australia-Indonesia Centre (AIC), the program will improve the cybersecurity competencies of Indonesian MSMEs that are ready to take the next big step of integration into ASEAN and global trade.

The goal is to run a pilot program that helps MSMEs to increase awareness of cybersecurity, understand its risks and respond effectively to it. The potential from the learnings of this pilot offers the opportunity to scale in Indonesia and other countries.

In conjunction with BSSN, the Ministry of Cooperation and UMKM of Indonesia, and regional governments, the AIC and BSSN have selected 100 MSMEs for the program. In a COVID-19 context, the training will be delivered online using webinar and online tools, supported by peer-to-peer learning methods. Content will be practical and cover the areas of design and development of cybersecurity awareness/culture, risk management and mitigation, developing cybersecurity incident response plans and managing cyber incidents.
