Well, actually many Indonesian peoples still afraid to talk in English, generally they just talk a few words in English most of word are simple vocabulary. Such as “Good Morning, sir”, “Hello sir”, Numbers.
Why it’s happen ? My answer is they’re afraid of grammar. As we know, to learn English we may not need to be an expert of grammar, just talk what we want to talk, right?
Otherwise, when foreigner come to Indonesia and talk a few words in bahasa Indonesia such as “selamat pagi”, “apa kabar” Indonesian peoples feel happy and surprise. So what should we do if we start to learn Bahasa Indonesia?
Love it
In the past time, Shakespeare said “What was Love ?” in modern time, I saying “Love is a feeling”
Yes, it’s true, when I was to start learned English. I had to build a love for English, in other words, I had to put a felling of love for English. No matter what, I had to learn what, why, how, where, when, which, who to build a sentence. Love can build happiness. Because love is the way. So if you want to learn Bahasa Indonesia the first thing that you have to do is love.
Grammar
Does Bahasa Indonesia has a grammar? Yes, it does. Indonesian Grammar name is “Tata bahasa”
But Does it matter? Of course it doesn’t matter to much. Believe me, “Tata bahasa” is not easy to learn. It’s difficult. One word may have negative definition even it still in one sentence. It’s too dangerous.
Even though I’m an Indonesian, I never know how to learn “Tata bahasa”. It’s make me confuse. So when you talk to Indonesian, you not need to understand Tata bahasa too much.
It such, if you meet an Indonesian who has bad skill in English and they try to talking in English on you even in wrong grammar, of course you’ll not angry, right?
Do you know that Tata bahasa has a common structure with Grammar?
Do you know why Indonesian can speak English, easily?
Colonized ? Nope.
Grammar ? Yes.
Does Indonesian always perfect “Tata bahasa” when they talk each other? Nope, Such as English, Indonesian always using local language and Prokem language.
Both of Local language and prokem language has a bad tata bahasa structure.
So, if you need to learn Indonesian, you can try my suggestion. Thank you. How to learning Indonesian Language ?
